Welcome to Magnolia Hill Pet Retreat in Port Byron, Illinois. We provide overnight boarding for dogs and cats, engaging dog daycare, access to our expansive Member's-Only 3-acre dog park and reservable 1/2 acre park, and convenient wash your own pet station. Our team is staffed through the night so your pet stays safe, calm, and happy.

Overnight Pet Boarding
Rest easy knowing our facility is equipped with geo-thermal in-floor heating/cooling and outdoor air exchange for you pet's comfort all year round. Our facility features 34 American Kennel Club High-Density Polyethylene fully private kennels with no face-to-face stress. Seven of our kennels are indoor only, 5’x6’ side by side with privacy wall kennels. Twenty-seven of our kennels are indoor/outdoor with the indoor portion being 4ʼx6ʼ and outdoor 4ʼx10ʼ with covered outdoor runs. Eight of our indoor/outdoor kennels are our companion kennels.
For our feline friends, we have a 6'x6' private cattery that is on the opposite side of the building from the dogs and limited to one family of cats at a time.
All kennels are reserved on a first come first served basis, so early reservations are encouraged.
Dog Daycare
We offer energetic group play sessions as well as dedicated daycare for reactive dogs. Every pup gets individual attention designed around their personal comfort and social preferences. All dogs wanting to participate in group play must first pass an evaluation test. Current vaccinations must be on record for all day care animals.
Hours are Monday-Friday 7am-6pm and Saturday 8am-2pm. Please do not arrive before this time unless prior arrangements have been made, and someone is expecting you.
All dogs must arrive and leave leashed. No metal or spiked collars allowed.
Dogs must be at least 4 months old to attend with age-appropriate vaccines. Any dog over 6 months old must be spayed or neutered. Dogs that become aggressive will be isolated immediately. Dogs must know name, “sit”, “stay”, “come” commands for group play.
We do provide day care for reactive dogs. They do not participate in the group play but instead are offered private outdoor playtime two or three times a day, weather permitting. Reactive dogs get their own 4’x16’ indoor/outdoor kennel for the day.
Members-only 3-acre Dog Park and Reservable 1/2 acre
We are proud to announce that we are the first Vaccination Required Member’s Only Dog Park in the Quad Cities and surrounding area. We have two amazing dog parks, a 3-acre for high energy and a reservable half acre for a private outdoor experience, all with 6’ chain-link fence. All dog owners will be required to submit and keep up-to-date vaccination records before acceptance to membership. Please visit the office to submit vaccinations or sign necessary paperwork before entering the park. Records can also be emailed to info@magnoliahillpetretreat.com
Wash your own Pet Station
Save your own bathroom from bathing disasters by using our pet washing station. Bring your own shampoo or use ours for a small fee. You are welcome to bring your own towels, but we do provide some along with a pet blow dryer. Please call to schedule an appointment, so that you may have the entire room to yourself. We do the clean up!

Make your pup's vacation extra memorable with our delightful add-on services. Treat them to soothing lick mats, Kong treat balls, pup cups, private play time or a cozy evening of pupcorn and a movie. Need extra outdoor gear? Stop by our front office to pick up durable balls and toys for their dog park adventures.
How to get started
Joining our retreat family is easy! New guests simply call to register or email their pet's vaccination records to info@magnoliahillpetretreat.com. For the safety of every guest, all dogs must have up-to-date Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper vaccinations administered by a veterinarian at least 14 days before their visit. Cats must have Rabies and Distemper.
